Reclaiming your Limitless Energy
Do you ever look at children and envy their limitless energy and ambition. Wondering, why did I lose all that energy? How can I get it back? Or perhaps you think that dragging yourself through each day with low levels of energy is a natural process of aging and juggling multiple demands in life. Well you are wrong I have seen many clients well into their 70's and 80's who follow cleaning and enzyme therapy; when they come back to see me they look more alive then some 30 year olds I work with.
You can certainly regain that lost energy
Based on all the literature and client work I have done I am convinced that a diet of raw foods is the ticket to limitless energy. As a bonus you will easily be able to maintain a healthy weight, handle stress effectively, feel younger and live longer. For most people, though, eating only a few raw foods daily is a challenge. An excellent balance is to eat some raw foods, about 4-6 servings, every day. Choose organic whenever possible and take a digestive enzyme. A large salad with two to three different vegetables with two meals a day and 2-3 servings of fresh fruit daily will keep your energy levels elevated and your weight down. This is my recommendation for a long and vital life.
The Main Energy Drains
Lack of energy is the third most prevalent health concern among North Americans with more than 45 million citing it as their greatest challenge. Depression and allergies rank first and second (not surprisingly as both of these commonly occur with fatigue).
Fatigue is a major issue for about half of the clients who come into the Colon Hydro Care clinics. Some say they feel tired when they wake up in the morning; others experience mid-day slumps. Still others have chronic fatigue that persists throughout the entire day. For the most part, we have identified the source of these energy crises to the following factors: poor nutrition (poor digestion, absorption, or diet), food sensitivities, toxicity, stress, hormone imbalances, certain medications and of course lack of sleep.
Your energy level indicates the state of your vitality
You energy level indicates your body's ability to remain healthy under physical and emotional stress. The good news is you have plenty of control over these energy reserves- control that comes from rebuilding and maintaining an optimally functioning body. Colon hydrotherapy combined with enzyme therapy plays a critical role in restoring physical vitality and therefore energy.
What you can do to restore energy
Many clients report enhanced energy levels with as few as two colon hydrotherapy sessions. They experience energy and stamina they had been missing for years. Often after their first session they will have one of the most restful sleeps they can remember. This is all do to lessening the burden of toxicity and cleaning out re-circulating hormones. With every colonic session we give a probiotic and recommend our clients take one every day to re-establish good health in their gut. In addition to probiotics, and upon evaluation of the intake forms; we will also recommend digestive enzyme therapy, a cleanse or a complete kit to meet their health goals along with a series of colonics.
As many as 85 percent of the clients that come into the clinic with sleep disorders improve dramatically once they begin colonics and enzyme therapy. Unfortunately most people resort to drinking coffee, eating sugar, smoking cigarettes, and taking stimulants for temporary energy boosts. These short term solutions simply mask the problem, causing complications (addiction, headaches, weight gain, and toxicity), and aggravating existing medical conditions. A much healthier alternative for replenishing your energy is to improve digestion and nutrient absorption, eliminate food sensitivities, and remove toxins from the body through colon hydrotherapy.
Other possible causes of fatigue
There are other factors than can deplete our energy stores and leave us less than our best. Some, (such as sleep disorders may be obvious); while others (such as an overactive immune system) may not be. It is important to identify the underlying cause of fatigue: You need to treat the cause in order to experience true energy and vitality. I have included a few of the invisible causes below with a brief description of the condition. I encourage you to further research these topics and speak to your doctor if you suspect your fatigue is related to any of the following.
Adrenal Exhaustion
Many causes of fatigue are related to poor adrenal function, or adrenal exhaustion. This occurs from acute or chronic stress and physical emotional demands on the body. The adrenal glands sit atop the kidneys, they are a part of the endocrine system. The adrenals produce several hormones integral to the stress response most common are cortisol (anti-inflammatory), adrenaline and norepinephrine. These hormones govern the body's stress response. Strong adrenals rely on sufficient supply of vitamin C and the B vitamins.
A person weak or impaired adrenal function may have low blood pressure, low body temperature (always feel cold), and a feeling of complete exhaustion. If you are prone to fatigue and infections, it may be a sign that your adrenal glands are not functioning up to par. Other symptoms of poor adrenal function include depression, dizziness or light headedness, memory lapses and addiction or substance abuse.
Hypoglycemia
Hypoglycemia can result from a combination of protein intolerance and poor sugar metabolism. The body strives to maintain an adequate supply of glucose in the brain, but in hypoglycaemia the brain doesn't get enough. This leads to symptoms such as fatigue, depression, irritability, anxiety, confusion and in severe cases convulsions and psychological disturbances. People with hypoglycaemia tend to feel better after having something to eat. They tend to eat sugary foods and thus gain weight and are at risk for Type 2 diabetes. Enzyme therapy is essential for treating hypoglycaemia as well as a supportive diet and lifestyle.
Hypothyroidism
The thyroid gland regulates the body's metabolism and therefore its rate of energy production. Imbalances in the thyroid can have a profound effect on your energy levels. These imbalances can result from many factors, including nutrient deficiencies (especially vitamin A, riboflavin, iodine and selenium), enzyme dysfunction, chronic stress and even aging.
Hypothyroidism is among the most common contributors to fatigue. Physicians often overlook this condition because so many cases are subclinical. Although patients have symptoms their blood test results comeback normal. The best way to test thyroid function is through the basal metabolic temperature test do the test yourself at home following the instructions on this link.
Sometimes hypothyroidism co-exists with other endocrine conditions. A proper diagnosis is critical since it will dictate the appropriate course of treatment. Hypothyroidism isn't the only thyroid disorder that depletes energy reserves. If fatigue occurs with chronic insomnia, nervousness, and weight loss the problem may be hyperthyroidism- that is too much thyroid hormone. Other endocrine conditions can affect energy levels also. For example both men and women can become sensitive to their own sex hormones. Many people are also sensitive to cortisol, adrenaline and norepinephrine.
Immune Dysfunction
According to numerous studies, people with severe fatigue have a higher number of killer T cells. These are white blood cells that fight off viruses and other organisms. These people also have fewer suppressor T cells, which regulates the immune response once infectious invaders are under control. When this regulatory system fails, the immune system continues to mount its defences, triggering the release of cytokines. These immune mediators may be responsible for symptoms such as fatigue. It is the effect of the cytokines that make you feel sick and rest, not the infection itself. You can help support your immune system by regular cleansing and identifying food sensitivities. When your body is not able to fully break down the food you eat large particle are left behind. When the immune system recognizes these particles as invaders, it responds accordingly by turning on the white blood cells to deal with the pathogens. Colonics help restore proper bowel health and immune function, clearing up food sensitivities prevents the reaction that can contribute to immune system hyperactivity, preventing fatigue.
Sleep Disorders
Sufficient restorative sleep is essential for optimal energy, yet according to the Nationa Sleep Foundation, more than 50 percent of American adults experience insomnia at least a few nights a week. When people don't get adequate rest they rely on artificial stimulants to get them through the day. You can't help but notice a coffee shop on every corner and 5-hour energy shots at every gas station. People are self medicating fatigue in dangerous ways.
Not everyone needs 8 or 9 hours of sleep every night. Generally speaking, if you're able to wake up on time without an alarm clock, you are getting enough rest. Many factors can contribute to the sleep deficit in North America; stress, jet lag, noise, light pollution, poor digestion and impaired liver detoxification.
The liver and its enzymes are responsible for processing toxins in the blood and preparing them for elimination from the body. This process depends on certain nutrients, sufficient sleep and regular bowel movements. Leaky gut can also be a factor, since it allows toxins and large food particles to pass from the intestines into the blood stream. In the absence of adequate nutritional support and elimination, the liver must work even harder to process toxins or store them in fat for later. As the liver is unable to keep pace with detoxifying the body our toxin levels build up. When toxins remain in the body, they deplete energy levels. For this reason colon hydrotherapy helps remove excess toxins from the body and restore energy.
